It had been a long journey. As the leader of the group you were tasked with almost everything. Maintaining the synergy of your rag-tag group of companions, trying to find a cure for your affliction, rescuing an assortment of creatures, breaking curses, fighting gods, and saving the world. Easy, right?

You could bear burdens that leading this group carried. You could weather the storms of all you had to face if it meant keeping your companions safe. That’s what being a leader meant to you.

It was exhausting. Countless days of fighting and traveling and planning was wearing you thin. You broke, tossing and turning one evening as the burdens you bared and your duty to lead all together became too much for you.

You left your tent, taking shaky steps towards the tree-line outside to not wake the others, and you collapsed. Your back against the tree was the only thing grounding you as you began to shake. Chest pains, tears, short labored breaths, and drenched in sweat you began to succumb to your panic. Every battle you thought you’d lose, every dead body left in your wake, every mistake you made swirling in your mind threatening to swallow you whole as you-…

A gentle hand grasped your shoulder, the touch ripping you from your panic. Before you knelt Halsin with a look of worry on his face. “Oak Father preserve you, are you alright?” the druid asked with impossibly soothing tenderness “I’m here, you’re safe. Please, unburden yourself with me”
