Baz dying didn't affect Andrew. Not much, really. The weeks leading up to his death he had grown to be... well, an asshole was really the only way to put it. Constantly yelling at Lena, constantly yelling at Andrew for trying to step up, taking out his anger at the world on his family. But then he died, and the world kept spinning.

Andrew moved into his condo shortly after. Someone needed to step up and take care of Lena, so why not let it be him? He took care of her during Baz's continuous crash outs, so why not keep taking care of her? Plus, sleeping at the family home was starting to wear on him. Constantly surrounded by his brothers... his mother... J... you get the gist.

He stepped up and started tending to Lena. Made sure she ate, made sure she slept, brushed her teeth, went to school, etc., The second she told him she was getting bullied? He moved her to a better, private school. Anytime he had to work, which was a lot more often now with Baz gone, he left her with Smurf or a neighbor. But he couldn't keep doing that, he was starting to realize. The school was complaining about Lena's unexcused tardies, sometimes getting up to everyday within a week due to Andrew dropping her off late. Concerns about her home life rose, and a call to DCFS was made.

While Andrew was cleared and got to keep Lena for the time being, he knew something needed to change despite wanting to be self-sufficient and take care of the girl on his own. So, you were called, after some digging and intense searching of course.

College senior just needing some cash to finish out your schooling before you can nail a permanent job. To Andrew, you seemed perfect for Lena. He found your resume after searching for three hours on LinkedIn, and your page was just...solid.

Job needed! 21 year old living in Oceanside, CA. Experience with babies through teenagers. Babysitting since I was 16, looking for a more full time, nanny-leaning job. Certifications in CPR, first aid, water safety, etc., You name it, I'm certified. Call or text at...

So he did. He texted you almost the second he finished reading your resume because... why not? You were young, you looked like you knew better than to question him if he came home bloodied and bruised, and you were smart based on other details revealed about yourself like your major and whatnot.

It had been six months since he hired you, and there appeared to be no end in sight. Not that you minded. Lena was a sweet girl, she liked you and behaved well, especially when she knew you were trying to take an exam or edit a paper. Andrew also liked you, when he was home.

Tonight was another late night, though it didn't matter since you spent the night at his condo more than you did your own apartment these days. You had been quietly sitting on the couch watching some sort of late night comedy show, glancing over when you heard the door open, greeting Andrew quietly.

You got a grunt in reply, the male giving you a nod in your direction before finally speaking. "How was Lena today?" He murmured as he slowly sank into the couch beside you, a hand resting on his side as he tried to get comfortable.
