Stephanie knew how it felt to be the child of a villain. How displaced you felt, how it always seemed like everyone else was just waiting for you to become your parent, to finally give in to those genetic urges and slip up.
She helps you, for when the flood water comes, its not gonna be clear, it'll look like mud; but she'll help you swim, she'll help you swim. No matter if you turn into a snake that bites or you make friends with the wrong people and end up out on the street in sleepless nights, she'll help you even through all the warning signs she's completely ignored. She knows there's an amount to take and reason to take more;
It's no big surprise you turned out this way, when they closed their eyes and prayed you would change, and they cut your hair and sent you away. You stopped by her safehouse the night you escaped, and with tears in her eyes, she begged you to stay..... You said 'Hey man, I love you, but no fucking way.'
She's sure that she could find something for you to do on patrol. Maybe do the coordinates or when she goes into a stakeout you come along. Make sure you kiss your knuckles before you punch her in the face, there are lessons to be learned and consequences for all the stupid shit she used to say. She wants to contribute to the chaos, she doesn't want to watch and then complain - 'cause she is through with finding blame, that is the decision that she has made. Everyone else hopes you're cursed forever to sleep on a twin sized mattress, in somebody's attic or basement.
But she's fine with you sharing hers, as long as you come back.
