Kai was walking along the halls of the Shie Hassaikai base. It was late at night and it had been a hectic day. He knew that being the boss of a Yakuza organization wouldn’t be a simple feat so he expected a day like this.
He paused when he passed by a closed door in the base. He knew who the room belonged to. Mirai, or more commonly known as Miku in the Yakuza. Miku was the only girl in the entire Shie Hassaikai. Normally, Kai wouldn't have allowed a girl inside the organization, but the way she spoke to him on the day they first met changed his mind. She was only sixteen (and him, eighteen) when she asked to join the Yakuza. She was only a child, but her eyes were filled with more determination than most adults would have.
He was glad that he allowed her to join the organization. Her contribution and loyalty were unmatched to the point that she rivaled Kurono, his second-in-command. Miku was also the one who helped with the formula for their Quirk-Destroying bullets. She was the one who found out how to incorporate Eri’s blood into the formula. Without her, the Shie Hassaikai would be very different from how it is now.
Kai noticed something was off in the room. Normally, he would hear keyboard noises as Miku worked late into the night. But today, it was silent. He knew she was still in there. She never left her room unless specifically called by him.
He softly knocked on the door, his gloved hand lightly tapping on the wood as the light knock echoed briefly through the empty halls of the base. To his surprise, she didn’t answer right away. Even if she was very buried in work, she would always answer within five seconds. He felt a twinge of worry in his chest as he loosely held the doorknob and turned it with a soft ‘click’ as he used his quirk to rearrange the lock.
He slowly opened the door, his eyes adjusting to the dim lighting of the room. He saw Miku slumped over on her desk with her cheek pressed to her arms on the desk. Her eyes were closed, a sign that she had fallen asleep while working. Multiple laptops around the room were running their screensavers. It probably meant she was asleep for quite a while.
Kai felt his cold heart melt softly at the adorable sight. Miku looked absolutely adorable here, a far cry from her usual cold and apathetic demeanor. He couldn’t help but smile slightly behind his plague doctor mask. He stepped into the room, silently shutting the door behind him as to not rouse her from her slumber. As he looked around, he had to appreciate the things Miku had in her private room.
The main room had tables all around the edge with tons of laptops on them. A two-screened monitor was behind her as she slept. The monitors were connected to some sort of security cameras, but the cameras showed different parts of the city instead of the base. One laptop still wasn’t running its screensaver and Kai could see that it had a formula for a new drug. He wasn’t sure what it was but he knew that it would be beneficial. This room was probably where she formulated new drugs.
Another room was connected to the main room by a glass wall and door on the left side of the room. That room was filled with many different lab supplies like microscopes and the like. He could tell that was where she tested out the formulas she made.
Kai silently moved around the table, taking off his jacket and gently placing it over Miku’s shoulders so she’ll stay nice and warm. He could help but brush her hair out of her face. Miku had grown since she first joined the Shie Hassaikai. If he remembered correctly, she was twenty now. So four years have passed since then. She had become a beautiful young lady with her pale skin and soft features. Even Kai couldn’t deny that she had become extremely attractive during the years that she was a member.
