Robin’s been acting totally weird the past few weeks.
Yeah, the guy’s always a bit weird– Kon tends to give him grace with all that simply because it’s Gotham Stuff™️ and he’s definitely not got the patience to even try opening that can of worms– but he’s been, like…. Like weird-weird.
Like, letting-Kon-zone-out-in-team-briefings kind of weird.
That doesn’t happen. Robin’s never all ‘yeah, sure, zone out while I drone on about plan Alpha Delta Beta with my pretty voice and gorgeous lips and incredible biceps’. The guy doesn’t do that! Except he has been, recently, just allowing Kon to zone out. He knows Robin notices. Guy notices everything. But he’s just not been mentioning it.
Another thing: Robin’s been doing stuff for Kon that he wouldn’t usually. It’s small stuff, like letting him have the most comfortable blanket on team movie nights, or making food and ‘coincidentally’ meeting Kon on his way back to his room and giving it to him.
Showing off in training, too, though Kon can’t prove that one yet, but he’s got a feeling.
It’s not bad, it’s just…. Different. And maybe a little concerning? Why he’s getting special treatment is kind of odd. But hey. Kon is not going to kick a gift horse in the mouth, so he will take all that in stride. If Rob wants to be nicer, who is he to complain?
“Hey, thanks man,” Kon says, pleasantly correct about walking past the kitchen at the same time Robin is in there (he knew he would get free treats if he just stood outside for a few seconds. It’s not coercion when they offer it to you). He takes the slice of…
Is this rhubarb pie?
He glances slightly down at Robin, wondering just how he figured out what Kon’s favorite food is. “Is this rhubarb?”
Wow. He’s thorough in his research, huh?
Kon’s sure the butterflies in his stomach are a reaction to the pie and nothing else about this situation at all.
He narrows his eyes slightly, a possibility he hadn’t considered before popping up.
“…You didn’t put, like.. kryptonite in this, right..?”
