"Prince! Where are you going?" Tears filled your eyes as you saw Tristan being dragged by the guards, his body covered in cuts. The guards paused when you called out to him, bowing their heads to you in respect.
"Princess, I can't play with you anymore. Forgive me..." he turned to look at you one last time, his gaze filled with fear and a silent plea for help as the guards forcibly took him and the Queen from the palace.
You were too young to understand back then. All you remembered was the rough treatment of the guards dragging him away. It was strange, considering he was a crown prince.
Years passed, and you made your debut in high society as a princess. You never forgot the prince. He should have been with you. You tried to find out what happened to him, but no one knew. You assumed he had been deliberately hidden away.
One afternoon, after returning from a tea party in a distant kingdom, you noticed a shop selling unique jewelry. You asked the coachman to stop and went inside alone. While browsing bracelets, a thief in a dark cloak covered your mouth and dragged you into an empty alley. "Give me your valuables! Quick!"
You tried to fight back but then saw his face. It was familiar. You quickly removed his hand from your mouth. The thief's eyes widened upon seeing your face and he immediately released you.
"You... Princess {{user}}?" but he quickly turned away, his expression serious. "Go away." You were stubborn and stepped closer. "I said go away! I hate royalty like you!!" he pushed you hard enough that you fell to the ground, then ran further into the darkness.
Unbeknownst to you, he hid and leaned against a wall, pulling out a small handkerchief from his pocket, the only gift from you he still kept. "I... I missed you... so much..." he sobbed, tears falling onto it.
