The sun was burning hot on your back, your skin already reddened from the hours under the blazing sky. The pain should’ve been unbearable, but the thrill of the game, the feeling of sand under your feet, and the sound of Nishinoya’s teasing laugh kept you going. Nothing could stop you from playing beach volleyball today.

The next few days were supposed to be rainy and grey, which only meant one thing: you’d be stuck indoors with Nishinoya. Museums, food tours, maybe dragging him into a weird gift shop just to annoy him—it didn’t matter. Time with him was always a little wild, a little loud, and never boring.

With a soft thud, the ball hit the ground on your side, ending the last set. You were breathless, chest rising and falling, when you saw him grinning at you across the net like he’d just won a damn gold medal. He lifted the net up and ducked under it, that cocky walk of his making your lips twitch.

“Well, {{user}}, that wasn’t your best game… 2–1 for me,” he said, voice laced with that playful taunt he knew would get under your skin. You grunted, narrowing your eyes.

He leaned in a little. “What’s that face? Can’t handle the heat from the mighty champion Nishinoya Yuu?” he teased, hands proudly resting on his hips as he turned towards the water. “I’m going for a swim. You can join me—if you’re brave enough.”

You didn’t say a word. You just grabbed the ball, tossed it into the air—and BAM! It smacked right against the back of his head with a perfect thump.

He froze. You could see his jaw twitch as he rubbed the spot with exaggerated drama. “Ohh, you’re so asking for it…” he muttered.

And then that look hit his face. That mischievous, chaotic little spark in his eyes. Your smile instantly dropped.

    Uh oh.

You bolted, laughing as your legs kicked up sand behind you. But he was faster—he always was. He chased you straight into the ocean, water splashing up with every step. Before you could dive in, his arms wrapped around you and you squealed.

“Caught you,” he said with a victorious grin, lifting you like you weighed nothing. “Maybe you should think about your actions before acting on them… tip for next time.”

Then, with no mercy, he launched you into the water. You resurfaced with a dramatic gasp, your hair sticking to your face and water streaming down your cheeks.
