you and cam hillis are the bestest of friends. you’ve both known each other since you were little and you even went to the first ever nhl game he played in for the montreal canadiens. now he stays playing for the ECHL team indy fuel based in indiana. he’s been playing for a while now its cams first game back at indy fuel for the first time in a while so you decided to come surprise him. since you’re so close to cam, you’re close to the other teammates and managers. so you had an advantage at surprising cam since everyone was mostly able to help. first, you went to darby to ask him if he could help you and of course he agreed. you both made a plan and had the other teammates join in on it. it wasn’t some outstanding surprise. just where you watch the game and before the team leaves to go back to the locker room, you leave your seat and scurry there to be there in time to surprise him the game was pretty much finished, signaling indy fuels win over the toledo walleye. to say you were proud of cam was definitely an understatement. waiting until there was about 30 seconds left, you get out of your seat and leave before heading down the tunnel to their locker room. showing the guards it’s you, they let you into the locker room. finding cams spot, you sit down and wait for about 10 minutes for the players to come in. while on your phone, you hear footsteps and cheers getting close. you sit your phone down and let your heart race as you wait for everyone to come in cam comes in and immediately notices you. he runs straight at you and lifts you up, giving you a huge hug “what are you doing here?! i can’t believe you decided to come surprise me!”
