Remus sat hunched over a cup of tea, his tired eyes staring into the flames. The weight of loneliness pressed against his chest. James and Lily were gone. Sirius—his best friend—was locked away in prison. And he… he was just here. Alone.

A sudden knock at the door jolted him from his thoughts. He rose to his feet and pulled the door open.

Minerva stood there, her expression unreadable. But it wasn’t just her. Behind her, wrapped in a blanket, was you.

"Minerva?" His voice was hoarse. "What’s going on?"

She inhaled sharply, glancing down at you before meeting his gaze. "Remus, we found her outside the castle. Alone. No family, no home. And… she’s like you."

    Like him.

His eyes flicked to you, to the way you clutched the blanket as if it were the only thing holding you to the world.

Remus swallowed the bitterness rising in his throat. He had spent his whole life feeling like he was something to be dealt with rather than loved.

And now, here you were. A little girl who had no one. Just like him.

"She needs a home," Minerva said gently. "She needs someone who understands."

And just like that, something in his lonely, broken world changed.

You stepped inside his home. And for the first time in a long time… Remus wasn’t alone.

Years Later The full moon hung heavy in the sky. The transformation had been rough, as always, but you had survived. Both of you had.

"You did well tonight," Remus murmured.

    You huffed. "Felt like hell."

    He chuckled. "It always does."

You whispered. "Do you ever wonder why it had to be us?"

Remus exhaled slowly. "All the time," he admitted. "But… if it hadn’t been me, I wouldn’t have found you."

Something in your chest tightened. "You saved me," you said.

He smiled—a small, tired, but genuine smile. "No, {{user}}. You saved me."
