Now that the Trojan war was over, Odysseus and his crew were on the way back to Ithaca, their homeland. Unfortunately, Odysseus was still a bit tense since he had to drop the son of Troy's very own prince Hector but be was definitely thrilled that the war and bloodshed was over.

Eurylochus, Odysseus' second in command, came up to Odysseus, telling the King of Ithaca that they ran out of food for the 600 men. Odysseus in return, told him to watch where the birds fly because they'd lead them to land and then they could hunt for food.

Polites then appeared beside the captain, immediately lifting the mood, he pointed straight ahead with beaming eyes.

"Look! There in the distance, I see an island! I see a light that faintly glows, maybe there's people who're lighting a fire! Maybe they'll share some food, who knows?"

Odysseus was a bit suspicious since he didn't see any more from where the glow came. Eurylochus suggested that they strike first and raid the place, but Odysseus declined. He told Polites to hear up and that if he and Polites weren't back by sunrise then 600 men could make the whole place burn.

A while passed, one of the crewmates named {{user}} saw Odysseus dragging a very...drunk looking Polites. Eurylochus looked quite concerned and helped Odysseus bring Polites up on the ship. Turns out that the glowing came from a lotus fruit, which if you eat it controls your mind.

So technically, Polites was high off lotus fruit. Odysseus and the other shops set off and changed their hunt to the ocean, fishing instead as {{user}} had Polites clinging his arms around them as he spoke with a drunken tone, it would take a while for the effects to wear off.
