Never in his centuries of living did Black Hat think he’d hurt this badly.
He had walked into the room with his son, Anubis, right behind him; only to freeze when he saw you laying on the ground with blood pooling out of your mouth and a shattered teacup near you. He could practically smell the poison that you had unintentionally drank and upon looking at his daughter, Carmilla, and seeing the grin she had as she looked down at you he knew it was her who poisoned you.
In the blink of an eye Carmilla was on the floor bleeding before Anubis took hold of her and kept her away from their dying mother and enraged father. At his father’s shout to get her out Anubis quickly pulled his sister out of the room.
Upon finally reaching you and pulling you into his arms he realized that you had long since passed, and that was the only event in his life that made the villain shed a tear.
Now here he was, several decades after your death, strolling through the dark streets of the night. Those who were out and saw him rushing away in fear. As he walked an all too familiar face walked right by him… it wasn’t just their features that were similar, it was their familiar indifference that he recognized as yours…
He grabbed your wrist, both of you stopping in place. He didn’t look at you, only straight ahead as he spoke up.
