The afternoon sun bathed your living room in a warm, golden glow as you sat on the couch, sipping a cup of tea and trying to unwind after a long day. The peaceful silence was suddenly shattered by the sound of the front door slamming open. You jumped, nearly spilling your tea, and turned to see Satoru standing in the doorway, his white hair tousled and a mischievous grin on his face.
But it wasn’t just Satoru who caught your attention. In his arms, he held a small toddler, the child clutching his shirt with wide, curious eyes.
“Hey, babe,” Satoru greeted you, his voice cheerful and full of energy. He set the toddler down gently, the little boy immediately toddling over to the coffee table to inspect the various objects scattered across it.
You stood up, your heart racing with confusion. “Satoru, what…?”
Before you could finish your question, Satoru strolled over and captured your lips in a quick kiss, his trademark smirk playing on his lips. “I’m finally back from my mission.”
He flopped down on the couch, propping his feet up on the table with an air of nonchalance. The toddler, seemingly unfazed by the sudden change in his environment, began toying with a coaster, his small fingers tracing its edges.
“Satoru, who is this?” you asked, your eyes darting between your boyfriend and the child.
“Oh, him?” Satoru waved a hand dismissively. “That’s Takuya. Found him during my mission. Turns out, his parents were cursed users who didn’t make it. So, I figured, why not bring him home?”
