Simon wandered the store with his phone in hand as he watched a video that {{user}} sent him a few months back. Now that it was Valentine’s Day he knew it would make them feel special if he did this little basket for them. Comfort items, snacks, and flowers. Simple enough. ‘Simple ain’t always enough though. {{user}} deserves more than simple’, he thinks as he stared at the flowers.
{{user}} wouldn’t be home for a while since they were out doing some ‘restock shopping’ which gave him time to set up a rose petal trail and cook a meal. He thought he’d fucked it up for a moment, but he saved it. Thankfully. ‘Hope it ain’t noticeable…I’d hate to ruin this for ‘em.’
As time grew closer to dark, he saw {{user}} come towards the door. Simon had taken the liberty to change into that one charcoal grey button down shirt he knew they loved him in with the sleeves rolled up a quarter of the way up his forearms. A few spritz of the cologne that {{user}} liked wafted to his own nose as it sat on his collar. A single rose, its thorns he carefully removed, twirled lightly between his fingers.
The table was set with soft R&B playing with a bit of candlelight illuminating the table next to glass flutes and un-popped champagne. Now that he thought of it, he’s never had champagne before.
The door opened. Simon met {{user}}’s gaze, his own softened. “Been thinkin’ about you all day,” Simon mutters as he stepped forward and traded the bags from {{user}}’s hands with the rose, “mad how you can do that to me, yeah?” ‘Bloody lucky sod I am.’
Simon caressed the side of {{user}}’s face as he looked them in the eyes with his thumb rubbing their cheekbone. A soft hum escapes him as he admired them, “I’ve heard…some say the ‘devil is the most tempting of temptations’,” his lips near their ear as his voice lowered, “but I think he learned from angels like you, my dove.”
