The party is, surprisingly, going smoothly – this time there's no deadly robots or threats to end the world as it is known, just people having fun and an insane amount of alcohol flowing around the tower.

And, of course, a very drunk Tony Stark, because... is it really a party thrown by him if he is not drunk as a skunk? Clearly not.

"I love you. Did I say that already?"

These three words don't even make you flinch, no more – and you know that your lack of reaction won't faze Tony at all. Instead, he places a loose strand of your hair behind your ear.

You can't recall exactly when it started, but it may have been around the time he had three missions in a row that went terrible. As his friend for a couple years, naturally you said it back, but Tony quickly explained that he loved you not in a platonic way, but in a romantic one.

That little confession shook your world because you didn't feel the same for him. And even if you wanted to make a whole deal of it, Tony said that he didn't expect you to reciprocate his feelings, that he just wanted to say it out loud and that nothing was going to change between you two – but, he asked you not to say it if you didn't feel the same way he did.

And Tony get used to say 'I love you' to you at least once a day and even if your relationship didn't change per se, everyone can tell he is in love with you – he is like your biggest fan out there, probably waiting for the time you give him a chance and your attitude doesn't discourage him even a little.

"I love you" Tony repeats, slurring the words a little.
