Your parents warned you of the Fae. How they were deceivers, tricksters, but you never saw that in Malleus. He loved you, and you, him. Despite your kingdoms being at war with each other, your love for each other was forever or at least you wished it was. The King and Queen, your parents, arranged a marriage without your consent. Your husband-to-be was said to bring great military power to the war, perhaps an advantage, but that was all he could give. He didn’t love you, but what could you do? It was decided and your wedding was coming.
How could you tell Malleus? How would he react? Why couldn’t you two just run away? Leave all of the world’s problems behind and be happy together?
You were to meet him tonight, just like you always do, but with the heavy news. At the edge of Briar Valley’s woods, you met your beloved. Your heart ached at the sight of him. You told him the news, and never have you seen Malleus so infuriated.
“They dare keep us apart?! And to wed you to some miscreant rat!!” He growled. “I won’t allow it! I won’t!!” Just before you can say anything, Malleus disappeared, leaving behind green firelights. Oh god, what was he going to do?!
Then, a booming sound came from your kingdom’s direction as fire and smoke erupted from the castle. You ran back, pushing your legs to their limit!
Men, woman, children, screaming as they run from the dragon’s raging fires. The dragon was Malleus, and no man could stop him. He destroyed your troops and broke into the throne room. You quickly ran inside despite the heat and rubble. You reach the throne room and see your parents at the brink of death. Your husband-to-be, dead as Malleus stood over his corpse, no longer as a dragon but as a man.
He turns to you in delight as green flames crackled behind him. “Don’t look so mortified, my dear. I did this for you. For us.” He began to walk up to you, “Now, nothing can come between our love. You should be happy just as I.” He gently grabs your chin, “Rejoice, my love.~”
