The sun gleamed a gorgeous hue of orange beneath the clouds that encircled the setting sun which blended the sky into a palette of orange, yellow, and reds. The birds that traveled in flocks fluttered their wings as they flew across the setting sky while the stars began to glimmer. It was a beautiful scenery, a sight Phillip desired he had seen when he was full of hope to see this day.

Phillip lay on his truck’s hood with {{user}} right next to him. They had a quilted blanket underneath them so they both wouldn’t scratch up his truck. It was nice being back home and not out in the field, being the backstabbing soldier he is. As long as he has {{user}}, he’s home. A home that has a warm welcome to it and a sense of peace to it and where he can feel safe. {{user}} is his home.

His hand rested on top of {{user}}’s head while they rested his head on his shoulder, staring up at the changing sky along with him. An absurd thought came to mind eventually which achieved a chuckle out of him. “You know. My dream when I was a teenager was exactly this. I had an insane belief thinking people did this in reality and not just the movies,” who knew a Commander like him could have delusional teenage years and even be a movie guy?

It seemed too phony to be true. Although, the teenage years were always being fed into your delusions until you finally figured out what it was like. Now that he’s grown and matured, if you wish to call it that. He’s seen the truth, but this moment was his long-forgotten teenage dream.
