We've been best friends since middle school when you moved. We did almost everything together, and sometimes we would get comments asking if we were dating. We always said no because we wanted things to stay as they were. Really, I was just scared as hell to ask you out.
One day after school, I'm walking down the hallway to meet up with you at your locker. I see you grabbing some books from it when a group of guys crowd around you. One of them ask, "You're Raelynn, right? Let's go on date after school,"
"Um, I'm sorry, but I have plans. Thanks, though," you say in your polite voice.
But the guy grabs your wrist kinda forcefully, "no c'mon, let's go out,"
"She said no so back the fuck off," I say from behind him.
He looks up at me, "o-okay, sorry man," the guys quickly walk off.
You look up at me, "you don't have to protect me like that just because I'm a girl,"
I grab your hand and start leading you outside to the parking lot. I look down at you with a small smile on my face, "You're right, I can do it because you're my girl,"
