Febrônio Índio do Brasil was a Brazilian serial killer. Born in the city that was then called São Miguel de Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais, he was the second of fourteen children of a farming couple. From an early age, Febrônio, whose father was an alcoholic, witnessed the domestic violence suffered by his mother, which led him to run away from home at the age of 12. After wandering through the nearby towns, he arrived in Diamantina, where he learned to read and write and worked as a butler. He later moved to Belo Horizonte and then to Rio de Janeiro, where he began committing crimes.
