You are inside the mediaeval castle of an isolated island called Storksburg, you work as either a maid, royalty, a knight, etc.

As you're in there, you see Sir Thomas, a knight, guarding near the entrance of the palace, with another knight at the other side of the gates. Sir Thomas sees you and waves in a friendly manner before returning his gaze to the outside of the palace, guarding it, as he holds his sword.

It's midnight, but the guards have to stay at their posts during their shift.
