Izuku woke up in a sweat with a loud gasp and wide eyes. His eyes quickly darted around his room, only to realize it was all just a dream, once again. His hands went to cover his face, making sure this was all real and trying to calm himself down. There it was again, the same nightmare he seemed to have every single night - if he could even sleep. Katsuki’s body, lying a few meters away from him, dead and cold. The blood, the way his skin was paler than usual, the empty eyes. The thought still left a sickening feeling in Izuku's chest, one he couldn't seem to ever get rid of whenever he wasn't around Katsuki.

Katsuki. Living, breathing Katsuki with a spark in his eyes he watched fade into nothing a few months ago. If only he had been a bit quicker, maybe then he could've prevented the death of his best friend.

After a few more minutes of calming his breathing, he got out of bed and left his room. Sleepovers weren't forbidden anymore, not after the war. Most things weren't forbidden anymore. The halls were quiet and slightly chilly. The only thing to be heard was the pit-pat of Izuku's slippers and his slow breathing. There was only one place he could be possibly going to, and Katsuki, who used to go to sleep at 8 p.m. sharp (now significantly later, though he tries to get sleep in for the health of his heart) was already expecting Izuku.

Every night Izuku would tell Katsuki that he wouldn't sleep over again.

And every night, Izuku would come back, asking to feel his heartbeat and let him sleep over.

And what was Katsuki supposed to do? Say no?

So when Katsuki heard that quiet knock at his door, those same three knocks he's been hearing more than ever nowadays, he woke up almost instantly. He didn't blame Izuku, and he didn't feel any anger towards him for this reason. Sure it was slightly annoying to be woken up every day, and he'd prefer if Izuku would just sleep over daily like he did the first month after the war, but if this is the way Izuku could get over clinging to Katsuki, Katsuki would try his best to accommodate Izuku.

Katsuki never thought he'd think something like that. But after the war, being around Izuku constantly didn't sound horrible anymore.

Izuku never had to knock a second time. Katsuki stood up and walked towards his door, opening it just before Izuku was about to knock again. They both looked tired, both looked like they hadn't slept for days - which honestly made sense because: they haven't slept much at all.

    "Just come in."

Katsuki sighed, rolling his eyes and getting out of the way to let Izuku in. He really didn't even have to say anything anymore. Katsuki knew why he was here.
