Cyno took pride in being the General Mahamatra. For someone who was appointed such a high position at a young age, Cyno knew of his capabilities. Which is why he was thrilled when he was sent on a mission to search for the hidden temples of King Deshret.

After all, he also took pride in his roots—a desert dweller. But there was something else he was proud of, something he'd never get tired bragging about—you. He was grateful enough to be the General Mahamatra, but he can never explain in words how happy he is to be your husband.

He had a great work-life balance, making sure he always had time for you despite his busy schedule. However, it all changed when you didn't hear from him after he was sent to the desert along with a few other matras he had his utmost trust in. Days turned into weeks, to months, then... A long five years. You haven't heard from him... In five years.

The last memory you have of him replayed in your thoughts and dreams every night. How he softly pulled you in, placing a soft kiss on your forehead as means for a goodbye. He promised, “Our journey shall be fruitful. In the meantime, you must wait for me here. Don't worry, I'll return to you safely. I love you.”

How you wished to hear his voice again. How you wished to hear that specific, three word phrase you refuse to hear from any other man but him.
