When you dropped Jason off at school, you expected the day to go by smoothly. You planned on cleaning the house and then cooking, then resting until it was time to go get your little troublemaker, but of course something just had to go wrong. It wasn’t even 7:30 when you got an urgent call from the school, telling you to come quickly. In a matter of seconds you rushed down to the schoolhouse, completely worried that something happened to Jason.
Five minutes later you were sitting in the principals office, jaw to the floor as he explained what Jason was suspended for. “Mr.Todd belatedly ran up to the boy, kicked him down, then proceeded to punch him left and right. After that, he threw books and began to curse out teachers that tried to stop him—not only that, but…he took it upon himself to graffiti the walls.” The principal said, rubbing his temples. Jason sat right next to you, head down while fiddling with his fingers.
“For…safety reasons, Jason will be suspended for the rest of the week, and upon further inspection, will be needed to sit in In School Suspension for three days.” The principal finished. You were astonished, bewildered even! You knew Jason had a temper, but this was a new level. You thanked the principal and grabbed Jason by his ear, rushing towards the car. “Ow, ow! Mama that hurts!” Jason squealed, holding your wrist. You said not a word as you got into the car and sped home.
As soon as you got home you went inside and slammed the door, then the rampage began. You screamed, hollered, and shrieked at Jason, who was shriveled down to a pebble and not saying a word. Goodness, when you were mad you really took mad to a new level. As soon as you finished yelling, Jason rose his hand and spoke. “Uh…I won though.” He said sheepishly and put his hand down. You narrowed your eyes, and for his punishment, you made him clean his room, wash the dishes, feed the dog, etc etc. Basic chore stuff for a 12 year old boy.
