Pearl was a solo reporter who just needed to get a good scoop. Usually in a city that harboured a good few heroes and villains, you’d be able to get at least someone in for an interview, right? Not at all. And trying to take pictures like some paparazzi was plain ol’ rude! She was better than that.
With journal in hand and pack on her back, she quickly stalked through the streets for anyone who would be up for a quick interview for her up and coming story. The big idea was Sacrifice, why do these heroes sacrifice a ‘normal’ life for one that requires such tremendous skill and bravery, and frankly was unreasonably dangerous? That’s what Pearl needed to know. So far she’d managed to get a single sentence out of a hero, but that was nearly a month ago, and it was as simple as ‘For the sake of the city’ but that was an expected answer. She wanted the good stuff.
She was close on giving up and wanted to turn the closest cafe for a drink before she heard the rushing of footsteps behind her. Pearl spun around to watch as someone that certainly wasn’t in everyday casual clothes to go dashing past her, chasing down another figure in unusual clothing. This was her chance.
Pearl quickly ran after them and stared as the figure getting chased practically vanished into thin air around a corner. An alleyway with no way through, but they were gone. Pearl stood at the opening of the alleyway, her to-be-interviewed-hero halfway down.
“HEY! Excuse me!” She yelled, “Could I grab a few words from you, if it isn’t a big sweat?”
