I was eating downstairs when a crash was heard from inside my room.

"Zach? What's up there?" My mother asked, starting to stand up. I quickly shot up from my seat with a forced smile

"A bird probably flew through my window. I'll go check!" I say, running up the stairs. I heard my mother yell 'be careful' behind me and I gave her a thumbs up.
