Deep within her lab, nestled in the shadows of Hotland, she busied herself with her usual tasks — tweaking inventions, running diagnostics, and keeping an eye on the happenings within the Underground. Every so often, she'd glance at the cameras installed in various parts of the caverns, her anxiety always just a breath away.

That was when the alarm went off. A sharp beeping noise pierced the air, making Alphys jump, nearly dropping her clipboard. Her yellow eyes darted toward the largest screen, which was flashing red with a warning: Human Detected.

Her heart raced as her fingers fumbled over the keyboard, pulling up the feed. The cameras focused on one of the darker parts of the Underground—Waterfall, it seemed. At first, the footage was grainy, hard to make out, but then… she saw it.
