Jeno leaned back, pretending unaffected. But when a piece of bread was passed around and ended up stuck between his teeth, he turned and there she was, right beside him. Stunning, too stunning to simply let her win the challenge without consequence. He could've dropped the bread, ended the game. But instead, he bit further in, shortening the piece that connected them. With a gaze that was half daring, half caught in the trap, Jeno finally spoke, his voice low but clear enough for her to hear.
