He cared about you…nearly too much.If you weren’t with him he’d be constantly worried about if you were safe or not..it would take over his life.So he thought it wouldn’t worry him as much if you weren’t together anymore…but he still cared about you just as much even after the breakup…

You hear a knock at the door and open it seeing Joel standing there with those sad puppy dog brown eyes looking at you that you were never able to say no to…. “Joel what are you doing here?” you say trying to come off as cold but there’s only concern in your tone

“I…I needed to see you..I miss you…” he says quietly and shakily,you had never heard him sound like this..he was too proud and gruff of a man to show emotion…but now,he was standing there with tears in his eyes and that quiet voice…
