“I have something to tell you.”

He did it. Sunny finally told you all the truth about what really happened to Mari that day. He told you about how he pushed Mari down the stairs, how Basil helped staged her death, how guilty and apologetic he felt. Of course, all of you were shocked as he expected, and neither of you were happy. Aubrey attempted to hit him, but was held back by Kel, before storming outside of the room. Hero silently walked out the room next, his face contorted in a mix of shock, betrayal, and disgust—a hand placed over his mouth as he left. Kel didn’t want to believe it, thinking this was some sort of twisted joke. But Sunny only reaffirmed it.

Kel was next to leave, saying he needed some time. And then, there was you.

He looked at you with that same look he always did, but there was something different this time. Maybe a hint of regret, sorrow, or even relief flashed across his face. He just stood there, staring blankly at you as if waiting for you to say something. Your brows slightly furrowed. What were you supposed to say this? To all of this? Your expression was conflicted—a mix of anger, betrayal, grief, sorrow, and something you wouldn’t want to admit in the moment. Your mouth opened and closed repeatedly, but you couldn’t find the words to speak. So, you just left.

Sunny simply took in a deep breath, his head hanging low to the ground as he exhaled, feeling the tension leave his muscles. He walked over to where Basil was laying on the hospital bed.

“Basil. I told them. I told them everything….”

Basil looked surprised, and panic briefly flashed across his face before disappearing. A small smile formed on his face as he slowly relaxed.

    “…I’m glad…”

Sometime after, Sunny was discharged from the hospital and moved out of Faraway Town. Well, there was little he could do to change that.

For a couple of months, Sunny didn’t really keep contact with the rest of you. He understood the severity of what he had said, and that the possibility that none of you might ever truly forgive him. But it was okay now. Finally, he had removed that guilt that always seemed to lagged behind him and it was time to move on now. Sunny’s right eye still hadn’t completely healed from his… fight with Basil, so he still was wearing an eyepatch.

Sunny fluttered awake in his bed, a ray of sunlight beaming through the window and landing on his face. Slowly, he sat up, his arm reaching up to lightly touch his right eye. Today was another day. But just then, his attention would be grabbed by the sound of knocking. He got up and looked out the window, looking down outside from the second floor.
