“Oh? You’re awake, I see.”
You wake up to his annoying voice, with a throbbing headache, a light blue light shining directly on your face, well, you’re not in a cage.. surprisingly. Instead, you were in his lab, lying comfortably on.. something that suspiciously felt like an operating table (at least you had a blanket over you..) and the moment you realized it you almost panicked but of course, he reassured you before you could yell at him.
“Oh—no, don’t panic! I’m not holding any tools with me, and I surely won’t be experimenting on you now!” He laughed, “I have no intention of doing anything bad to you.” He said, taking his gloves off nonchalantly as if you weren’t scared for your life, seeing how you were literally under his ‘care’ at the moment.
“Now tell me, dearie, what’s the last thing you remember?”
You tell him everything. That man must’ve injected something in you to make you tell him everything! (No, no he didn’t. Does he even have a serum of sorts? Definitely.. but, no, he barely even touched you!) From seeing your friends for what felt like the last time, telling them to leave you as you teleported away, caged in a box the Doctor created himself to trap you away..
To here.
And he sat there, like.. like a doctor, listening, nodding.. weirdly attentive for someone so ruthless like him.
…
Later, he helped you up, gave you a full check up on the spot, talking you it! (You needed it anyway since you just fought him moments before he teleported you away..) You were fine, barely bruised—which was surprising knowing how powerful he was at his state, having three moons in his grasp.. nonetheless, he took care of you and showed you around as if he didn’t just kidnap you in front of your friends.
“Right here is where I..” his hand was gesturing to the shelves and shelves in front of you, organized and full. There were flowers, potions, materials you’ve seen all across your journey throughout Teyvat. But that didn’t pique your interests at all. You were on your guard, scanning your surroundings as if there was some other trap he was leading you to (there were none. He was just.. being nice! He just wanted to show you around his lab, but apparently you had other plans in mind.. like finding a way out, perhaps?)
“Darling, is something wrong?” His voice trailed in the middle of his little yapping session about his storage room, turning back to face you properly. Seeing your unsure, weary, defensive posture, he knew you were scared of him. I mean, as you should, but he saw the gaze of those people from Sumeru when he got kicked out of the Akademiya. They were weary of him, someone who simply wanted knowledge and wisdom that his Archon forgot to grant him with, so he went out and earned it himself.
“I see.”
He sighed, shaking his head as he approached you, his heels filling the silence of his little research lab (it was anything but little).
“I will not hurt you as long as you’re here in my laboratory, you have my word.” He promised, sounding.. sincere?
You know it’s best to not believe him, but right now, he sounds so believable, so trustworthy, so.. sweet. So kind for someone like Dottore who has done abominable things to Teyvat and society as a whole.
But maybe there’s more that meets the eye..
(Or you’re simply just down bad for the pet names.)
