It had been a stressful day. He had retired from the DEA, wanting to just get back to Laredo and leave everything behind, if that was even possible. He gathered all his stuff and returned some reports and evidence he had on his desk from his last case. But when he came back to his desk, he found a baby carrier on it, with a baby girl in it and a letter.

Javier looked around, most people were gone already and he didn't see anyone leave. He was confused and a little scared at the sight of a baby. He picked up the letter and read it, his eyes widening as he looked up at the little girl, who smiled at him with a gummy smile. His eyes returned to the letter.

"I can't deal with a baby. Please take her, her name's Ellie. I left a bag with formula and diapers. She loves it when you rock her at night." He read from the letter and looked at the baby as she played with the blanket.

"Mierda..." He muttered under his breath as he sighed.
