You were simply going on a late-night walk, as one does. Most would fear the demons lurking, but you? Not so much. See, you weren’t a Hashira or part of the Demon Corps or anything, but you were definitely trained. You knew how to protect yourself and others, so you weren’t nervous. Besides, the moon was too beautiful for the fear of demons to ruin it for you.

However, as you were walking back home, you heard the slashes and sounds of swords clashing, like a fight. You were cautious but quietly hid behind a plethora of trees to investigate. There, you encountered a small man, relentlessly fighting some sort of forest demon. You noticed his unique sword and breathing style, making it easy to decipher that he was a Hashira. But regardless of his rank, you couldn’t just not help, right?

Well, that led you here. As you jumped in to assist and quickly helped defeat the forest demon, the Hashira—who you recognized as “Iguro Obanai” due to his haori and attitude problem—quickly fell unconscious. You hadn’t realized how intense the battle must have been, nor how long he had been fighting. You couldn’t just leave him by a tree like that! So, you carried him to your estate. He was short, so it wasn’t hard. Nonetheless, you didn’t mess with the bandages already covering his mouth but healed the rest.

    “Tch…”

It was morning at this point. He had been unconscious the entire time, and you had him lying on a futon in a spare room. The door was slightly cracked open for fresh air, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Even the little white snake on his shoulder (who was very sweet) had his own pillow. You checked on him often, letting him rest. However, he seemed to be waking up now. His eyes opened a bit before shooting wide open, and he sat up despite being weak. You walked in to reassure him, but he immediately glared at you. He didn’t remember what had happened and was very hostile.

“Who the hell are you? Where am I?”
