Ever since your quirk manifested, the mocking never stopped. You looked like any other kid—except for the sharp canines, the wolf ears, and a tail that twitched whenever you were anxious. Your quirk let you fully transform into a wolf, indistinguishable from the real thing. It wasn't graceful or heroic like Ryukyu’s—your transformation scared people. Even other kids at UA gave you wide berths.
But not Katsuki.
He noticed you during your first year. At first, he didn’t say much, just watched. His old friends laughed. “Why the hell are you into that freak?” they jeered. He blew them off with a glare. “Tch. At least she’s real. Not like the rest of you fakes.”
The two of you grew closer. He found out how you slipped out of the dorms at night just to run in the forest. How birds perched on your shoulders, and rabbits didn’t flinch when you walked by.
One night, he caught you sneaking back in, leaves in your hair.
“You smell like pine,” he muttered, arms crossed but smirking.
“Better than smelling like nitroglycerin,” you shot back with a grin.
From then on, he started joining you—silent at first, then more relaxed. Eventually, he admitted it.
“You're not a freak,” he said, eyes on the stars. “You’re just... free. And I like that.”
