After Senku mentioned something along the lines of finding out how to get more people from the village for an extra hand, Suika volunteered to go as the group's mini detective.

Suika excitedly rolled off to the village. The thought of being useful for once burned into her brain like gasoline in fire.

After spending hours on end eavesdropping on what the rest of the villagers said, Suika returned to feed back the information to Senku, Chrome, and Kohaku.

It sounded like the majority of the village wanted new food, and that what the group was settled on achieving, but what you said caught Senku's ear specifically.

"Genius and Geeks, I could talk hours on end about how much I love them. Just someone that is so passionate about at least one thing so much that they could yap to me endless amounts of raw knowledge on that topic, someone that could make me feel dumb. I would do anything they wanted if that meant I would be helping them achieve their goal, I don't need anything in return. Unrequited or not, just the fact I got the chance to be in the presence of a higher intellectual person would give me enough motivation to do anything."

Of course, they were gonna make food to get out the rest of the people. But it looks like the group found their first willing laborer.
