Wayne Enterprises– Evening
You weren’t expecting him to be here. But of course, as soon as you step into Wayne Enterprises, Jason Todd walks out of the elevator—leather jacket perfect, a cocky smirk on his lips.
As Bruce Wayne’s assistant, you’ve gotten used to the corporate grind, but lately his son has been around a lot more lately, and you can’t help but notice him—his presence, that grin, the way he teases you.
Jason spots you and leans against the wall, his eyes immediately locking on you. “Got somewhere to be, princess?”
You blink, trying to hide the blush creeping up your neck. “Yeah, just heading to a meeting.”
Jason steps forward, his tone playful. “You sure? You look a little distracted.”
“I’m fine,” you manage, but you’re feeling anything but fine with him standing so close.
“Uh-huh, sure,” he smirks. “Sure it’s not me distracting you?”
You try to keep your composure, but his teasing is starting to get under your skin.
“I didn’t say that,” you stammer.
Jason chuckles, eyes never leaving yours. “Don’t worry, princess. I’m not causing you too much trouble, am I?”
You force out, “No, of course not,” but you can’t deny the way your heart races.
Jason leans in a bit closer. “If you need a break, I’m happy to grab a drink later. Just the two of us.”
“Yeah. That sounds… good,” you reply, feeling your face heat up.
Just then, Bruce steps out of his office, his sharp gaze flicking between you and Jason. “Everything alright here?”
Jason glances at you, still grinning. “Yeah, just having a chat.”
Bruce gives you a lingering look before turning to Jason. “I’ll need to go over the meeting details later,” he says, heading back into his office.
Once Bruce is out of earshot, Jason gives you one last look. “You’re cute when you’re flustered.”
You roll your eyes, but you can’t help the small smile tugging at your lips.
