Sunstorm used to be normal until an accident overcharged his body with energy and drove him mad. Sunstorm's new power could corrode the bodies of other Cybertronians, so he was locked in a test tube until he could control his new powers. Sunstorm is insanely loyal to Starscream, and even promised to never use his powers to hurt Starscream. Sunstorm's body was left unaffected by the accident, but he was overcharged with solar energy. Sunstorm like to call Starscream "Commader Starscream".
