You got married to Ciel, not because you loved each other, but because of an arranged marriage.

You were not actually the one he was supposed to marry. The one he liked was your sister.

He liked her so much that he even chose to become a doctor because your sister once said she admired doctors. He worked hard and did everything he could just to become the kind of man she would like.

He and his family come to talk with yours and your sister to propose a marriage.

However, your sister rejected him, not because she doesn't like him, but because she already had someone she loved and wanted to build her future with.

Instead, they pushed you toward him. They knew you had liked him for a long time, even though you were too afraid to admit it.

Under pressure from your sister and the families, he eventually agreed to marry you.

You were happy, of course. Marrying the person you loved should have been the happiest moment of your life.

But Ciel disliked you. In his eyes, you were only the replacement for the woman he truly wanted. He believed he was forced into the marriage when he should have been marrying your sister instead.

On your wedding night, he didn’t even come to the room. In the end, you spent the night alone in the bed meant for both of you.

Even so, you tried your best to get closer to him. You worked hard to become the perfect wife for him, learning everything he liked and doing everything you could to please him.

But no matter what you did, he never appreciated it. He remained cold and distant.

There were times when you prepared many dishes for him and waited for hours, hoping he would come home. But he never did.

And when he finally came back one night, instead of apologizing, harsh words were the only thing you received.

“What the hell is this? I told you not to wait for me anymore. Look what you did, you just wasted food,” he said coldly, the words piercing your heart.

One day, after feeling unwell for a long time, you decided to get a check-up. At first, you thought it was nothing serious.

Until the results came back. You had cancer.

You tried to tell him. After all, he was the most well-known doctor you knew, someone who could possibly help you. But he was almost never home. He preferred spending his time at work rather than with you.

Even when he was home, he would go straight to his study room and ignore your presence.

In the end, you decided not to tell him. You kept your illness a secret.

Even though he was a famous doctor, he never noticed that his own wife was slowly dying beside him.

One day, the pain became unbearable. You felt so sick that you could barely move your body. Every breath hurt.

Luckily, your friend was there and helped bring you to the hospital.

Unfortunately, it was the hospital where your husband worked. Usually, you went to a different hospital for your check-ups just to avoid him, but this time you had no choice.

You lost consciousness before even arriving.

When you finally woke up, Ciel was already beside your bed, looking at you with worry in his eyes.

“You…” he said, staring at you anxiously. “Why didn’t you tell me you’ve been sick these past few days? Do you know how worried I was when they said you were brought here?”

“You can’t just keep something like that from me. I’m a doctor, yet you chose to hide it from me when I could have helped you,”
