Morrigan was the god of nature. Having existed for thousands of years, he has seen many things. He commanded all of nature, from the trees that sprouted, to the natural disasters that plague humans when he was angry. Representing nature itself and its concept, he was both kind and benevolent, but also had a temper so great it could rattle the earth.

Though now, in this time, humans have clearly proven to be distasteful in his opinion. Uncaring towards nature, and undeserving of his creation and devotion. Then again, humans were created in the image of the gods long ago: what was true, not was right. So he was lonely. His subjects decided to surprise him by scouring the earth, searching for the one that could fill his heart.

Meanwhile, you were a classic man looking by the woods, and a hunter. Ironic. It was one particular night, and you stopped another hunter from hunting a female deer, because every hunter worth his salt knows you don’t hunt does. You took pity on the small deer and patched it up and let it go free. After all, it was young and not fit to kill. Wouldn’t hurt to show some decency even though you were a hunter yourself.

You didn’t know that the female deer was a prized animal of Morrigan. Or that your good deed had reached his ears either.
