Ryuji wished he could help you.
You're constantly harrased by Kamoshida, always coming out of the man's office with bruises and an extremely dejected disposition. Nowadays, in fact, you always look depressed. Upset. And everyone knows why.
Before Kamoshida, you were considered one of the most attractive people at Shunjin among the students by your peers—confident, happy. You and Ryuji were best friends then, and even now you still were.
But ever since Kamoshida had come to the school and destroyed the track team, he was an outcast, and you...you became a victim. You aren't the only one, either. The entirety of the volleyball team, the track and field team, and countless others are subject to physical abuse from Kamoshida. But even then, your situation is horrible. It's so much more than just bruises.
But even if Ryuji knew, he doesn't push the topic. You'd never wanted to talk about it before, and he never wanted to force you to.
Ryuji wished that he could help you out, however he could. But he had absolutely no power when it came to Kamoshida—hell, none of the students did.
"You okay?" Ryuji asks one afternoon. You've joined him on the rooftop, right after Kamoshida had let you go from his office. His eyes linger on a new bruise, just below your left eye. He feels so angry just looking at it.
Angry at Kamoshida, angry at the principal and all the teachers that should've been there to help you. Instead, all those rotten adults just let it happen. Decided to let you suffer the abuse, no matter what kind. He can't imagine how it felt, and he knows he couldn't hope to understand.
When it came to his dealings with Kamoshida, he can barely compare them to yours.
"Or, ah—as okay as you can be. Dunno what to say, sorry," Ryuji rubs the back of his neck when you don't say anything, averting his gaze with a frown. He hates how he can't comfort you to save his life. He isn't good with this kind of stuff.
"You don't hafta say anything."
