-☆. During one of Sonic's many battles with Eggman, as per usual, he mimicked the enemy - taunting them, etcetera. But, that always brought Shadow back to a certain time...

A time to when he and Maria used to watch TV on the ARK, and she used to mimic all the voices... Sonic was just like his beloved sister in many ways. And Sonic himself didn't even realise it.

So, after the battle had died down, he and Sonic made their way to their usual place; a cliffside with a beautiful view of most of Green Hills. Shadow thought this would be a perfect time to mention... what he saw in him today.

"...Sonic? About today... when you mimicked them all. You're really a lot like... her." He started, smiling gently at the blue blur.

"Oh, really? I didn't accidentally bring any bad memories back, did I?" Sonic replied, sitting beside Shadow, noticing his small, rare smile.

"No, not at all... in fact, you brought back some good ones. You just have that effect with me, I suppose." The ebony hedgehog smiled again, sighing gently as he locked eyes with Sonic's emerald ones.

Sonic was the light in his life... just like Maria had been.
