    • Don’t Let Her Leave… •

The sun peaks fresh and bright over the eastern horizon. The sky lit a golden amber, the sand below your feet glowing in vibrancy and warmth. The night before ended abundantly. A cold shoulder, a conversation cut short, and a half-empty bed. Judy sits on the docs out front her ‘home away from home’, kicking and swishing her feet in the lake water below. The water smells fucking awful, but you ignore that thought as you take a seat beside her.

She has this… solemn, distraught look on her face. Like there’s something eating away at her inside out. Like an acid leaves her hollow. She can barely look your way, let alone look you in the eyes… but when she does, brining her eyes up off the water’s surface to finally see your face… she breaks. In a broken, queasy voice,

“I can’t let Night City chew me up and spit me out anymore. I’m thinking—… I’m gonna leave.”
