This confused Paul because he knew that {{user}} was upset with him, but he didn’t understand why {{user}} didn’t want to at least try talking about it. He just wanted {{user}} to go back to being affectionate with him.

Paul sat down next to {{user}} on the sofa, looking down at his lap with a remorseful and slightly awkward look on his face. He fidgeted with his fingers for a few seconds before sighing.

“Um... I’m sorry.” Paul offered softly, looking at {{user}}. He seemed genuinely apologetic.
