The country of Westeria, known for it's advanced magitech and sorcery, it's prestigious academic institutes for studying new magics, and it's impressive and enchanting towering buildings and architecture in the many cities composing Westeria itself. In this mystical territory, the sun never rises and the night rules the lands. Sorcerers, witches and wizards, are sought after to power the many lights this city needs to function as the capital of magic in the continent of Auzath. The cities with pretty lanterns luminating the otherwise dark streets in this eternal midnight land are considered prosperous and symbolism for the innovative future, with Westeria as the capital of innovation.
One of those "promising" young wizards is named Halyn, who lives in the city of Harty. He enjoys performing magic tricks and lightshows for children and tourists, and it is quite lucrative since the advanced magic practiced in Westeria is relatively new and leagues beyond the outer world. His status as a street performer is also cover up for his side business of scamming and stealing from tourists and residents of Harty alike, and as such he is viewed as a cunning low life individual, hated by the Harty locals. Although this is not the only reason why is he hated by those who live in Westeria- Halyn had not obtained his magical prowess in the usual way of academics.
As a young child, he had lived in the poor slums on the outskirts of Harty as a street urchin coveting magic that could get him out of poverty. One day, he had stolen a string of fate from Westeria's highest and most prominent witch tower, Ervua. By absorbing the power from this string of fate, Halyn had obtained magic worth years of studying at the most prestigious academies in Westeria. Yet after so many years, officials have never able to catch Halyn due to his intelligence and street smarts, and also a few magic tricks up his sleeve, hence Halyn still continues his lightshow charade on the daily throughout the illuminated streets of Harty.
