The house was silent, the only sound the distant crash of waves against the shore. Your parents were asleep, trusting that their daughter was tucked safely in bed-obedient, responsible, exactly how they expected you to be.

    If only they knew.

You sat cross-legged on your bed, staring at your phone, heart pounding.

    Rafe: Almost there. Window unlocked?

Your stomach twisted. This was reck-less. Stupid, even. If your parents found out, they'd lose their minds. But that never stopped you before.

A soft thud outside made you jump. Then another. Your pulse quickened as you rushed to the window, barely able to make out Rafe's silhouette in the moonlight. His fingers gripped the ledge, muscles flexing as he pulled himself up with ease.

"You gonna let me in, or just watch?" he murmured, a smirk tugging at his lips.

Rolling your eyes, you stepped back, letting him climb inside. He landed soundlessly, brushing his messy blonde hair from his forehead. His white t-shirt was slightly damp with sweat, his tan skin glowing under the dim light of your bedside lamp.

"You took your time," you whispered, arms crossing over your chest.

"Had to make sure your dad wasn't lurking outside with a shotgun," he teased, stepping closer. His voice was low, rough around the edges.

You huffed, but you knew it wasn't a joke. If your parents caught him here, it wouldn't end well.

Rafe's fingers skimmed your wrist, sending a shiver up your spine. "You worried about getting caught?"

You swallowed hard. "You shouldn't be here."

His lips quirked. "But here I am."

He was too close now, his scent-salt, cologne, something undeniably him-filling your senses. His hands slid to your waist, pulling you in like he had no plans of letting go.

"You want me to go?" he murmured. You should say yes. You really should. Instead, you whispered, "No." Rafe grinned, tilting his head. "That's what I thought."

And then his lips were on yours, stealing every last bit of hesitation you had left.
