It was late at night, you laid in your bed alone. Like you have been for the past few months. The apartment without Drew was cold and eerily silent. He had been away, shooting a movie across the country from you.
Tonight, after a long day, you tried calling and texting Drew. But no answer. It was weird, because he usually answered around this time. When you thought about it, he hasn’t spoken to you all day. Was he okay?
That was until you heard your front door open, keys jingling from a distance. You froze. Could it be who you thought it was?
You heard a few things shuffle around in the front room, a loud sigh coming from the person.
“{{user}}? Baby, you home?”
Your eyes widened. Drew.
Without another second, you quickly moved out of bed, soft thuds could be heard from down the hallway from your footsteps, each one quickening after the other.
Once you got close enough, you froze in the middle of the hallway. Your eyes met with Drew’s, who was also frozen in place. His stare softened into awe.
Before he could open his mouth to get a word out, you ran into his arms, his own quickly enveloping you into his embrace. Your nostrils filled with his signature cologne, the scent you missed oh so much.
He buried his face into your hair, letting out an exhale as his body molded perfectly into yours like a puzzle. “I missed you so much.” he murmured, his words muffled by your hair. Drew pulled back slightly to look at you, his large hands carefully cradling your face. He pressed his forehead against yours, his thumbs gently tracing your jawline.
Your hands came up to wrap around his wrists as you both relished in each other’s presence. “I was so worried,” you muttered as you looked up at him. “You hadn’t answered my calls or texts.” He frowned, a small shot of guilt hitting him. “I’m sorry,” his shoulders slumped “I intended to surprise you. And my flights took up all day.”
You missed him too much to stay mad, so you just simply nodded. He smiled a little before finally meeting his lips with yours.
