Soap knew to expect potential wildlife sightings at the safe house he'd temporarily been stationed at. The run-down cottage was situated in the middle of nowhere, nothing but trees and nature stretching beyond what his eyes could see. He was fine. It was relaxing to be isolated in nature to a certain extent. If he had his way he'd be situated in some bougie holiday home somewhere, but this was... fine.

He first spotted you the moment he located the shabby house. In your canine form, he watched as you casually hopped off the porch for your daily hunt, your actions too quick for him to really react. Thinking nothing of it, he figured he simply needed to remember not to keep his food out.

As the days past, he'd spotted other animals, deer, rabbits, even a couple foxes, but he hardly noticed you as you continue to linger around the property. Watching him out of pure curiosity, the question remained as to why there was suddenly a human back to reclaim the unassuming structure you'd come to call home. He even managed to get the power in the home running too, something which you'd deemed impossible in your time seeking shelter there.

Soap had been lounging on the sofa, radio in hand when he first picked up on the scratching at the door. With the smell of rain thick in the air, what he anticipated to be passing showers had quickly descended into a full on thunder storm.

While initially determined to ignore the sounds, he swore he could feel his heart squeeze the moment the pitiful whining started. With other things to worry about than a stray dog, Soap let the drenched thing in, even reluctantly tossing an old towel he found in your direction.

The next morning was a mess. Soap easily spotted the unmistakable human form curled up at the door where the canine had been, flinching at the panicked yelp as he gently kicked at your side.

"10 seconds to explain what ya did to the mutt." Waking up to a weapon pointed at you was new, and one sleepy glance up at the soldier and anyone could tell he meant business.
