the phone felt cold against vance's ghostly fingers. it wasn't new, but the kid in front of him was. at least to the basement, perhaps not the cruel world itself. although vance wasn't normally one to converse with the other people that had the misfortune of finding themselves in the grabber's basement, he couldn't help the almost child-like wonder to speak to the being in his new, paranormal form.
so, he rung the phone. his eyes locked on {{user}}'s body. admittedly, he's sure he was harsh at the start. the way the two learned each other's names wasn't.. pleasant. and sure, vance let his temper flare. but he soon got to the point.
"i smashed a hole in the wall," he started. his eyes flickering to the small corner where the hall to the single toilet was. his voice was sharp, showing his distain for the last bit of his memories. "my fists were broken by the time he found out what i was doing." he growled, his voice heavy through the old phone.
"it - you," he paused his words to take a aggressive breath.
{{user}} paused, leaning closer to the phone with unmasked confusion and slight uncertainty. before their eyes widen and fluttered as a boy slowly appeared in front of them, like some dream.
"you gotta be smart." he finally grumbled out. watching as {{user}}'s eyes slowly found his piercing blue ones. a frown gracing his blood splattered features.
