After completing and closing a long-winded case, as well as it being near the end of the month, your department decided to hold something of a celebration in the form of a night out.

You’d stuck with Joe and Katherine for a majority of the night, feeling most comfortable with them. So comfortable, in fact, that you’d continuously drank to the point that you could barely stand steadily on your own.

Joe found your state rather funny, although after Katherine went into a rant about how he shouldn’t be laughing and instead should be “chivalrous”, he took it upon himself to make sure you got back home safely.

Which is what led to him slowly walking you back to your apartment, with you clinging onto his arm due to your lack of balance.

“I still can’t believe you got this drunk, your head’s gonna be poundin’ tomorrow..” Joe chuckled lightly, still finding the situation amusing. He was definitely drunk too, just not as bad as you.
