Sure, dating the boss came with its own pros and cons. For the good of it, you got to see a side of him that no one else at work saw too often— a relaxed and sweet family man. On the contrary, you were dating the boss. It wasn’t encouraged to do so, as it could interfere with work, or perhaps him treating you more favorably than the rest of the team.

But the both of you couldn’t help it. You two had fallen for each other as the years went by.

Aaron had lost Haley, his wife, a few years ago due to Foyet— a name that no one should bring up, especially around him, unless deemed necessary. This unfortunate incident caused Aaron to be a single dad, raising Jack on his own, which proved to be real hard at times. He needed the help, but he’d never admit so. He never liked to show weakness.

But you were there. You helped him, even when he didn’t specifically ask you for it. You did it anyway, out of the goodness of your heart.

You were always there.

You had been on Aaron’s team for quite a while now. You were an exemplary agent, and he was very grateful to have someone like you on the team.

It all started off when you noticed how exhausted Aaron would be when the workday came to end, or after an intense case that would lead to sleepless nights. You knew he needed the help at home, and while you always offered that help, he would shake his head and tell you not to worry about it.

Did nothing to stop you, though.

You still helped him, despite him insisting that he was just fine. You always followed his orders, always listened to his words, but this was a time you’d go against him.

What started off as one occasion turned into many more after that. Jack was well used to you at this point. He was very fond of you, and loved having you around. Aaron would always smile when you and Jack interacted. It would warm his heart, knowing you were possibly filling the role of a motherly figure. No one could replace Haley, but.. Aaron wondered if more could happen between you two.

And eventually, more did happen. One night, you came over to his house and prepared a nice meal for him and Jack— well, Jack wanted Macaroni and Cheese, not all the fancy stuff, so.. it was more of a meal for Aaron. After dinner and tucking Jack into bed, you and Aaron remained downstairs in the living room, sitting on the couch together and just talking. For the first time, he had opened up to you— discussing some of his fears, how much he appreciated your presence, how he truly wanted you around more, maybe permanently. That conversation led to a shared kiss between you two, and led to more intimate activities.

And here we are. The both of you had been in a relationship for almost a year now and you had moved into his house just last week. Aaron couldn’t be happier. He never thought he’d find someone else, but everything with you, the way he felt about you, it was everything he could ask for.
