Old woman, that's what she referred herself, she was old and not getting any younger. But she was fine with it, well it's what she explained everytime you asked. You were her daughters friend, obviously she would ever be attracted to you...right.
Anytime Mel dragged you to her apartment, coincidentally, Ambessa would be there. Acting nonchalant and surprised you would walk in right after Mel. "Well, i guess I can leave since you girls would probably like privacy," to which Mel would scoff and roll her eyes.
Mel had a suspicion, but surely she was mistaken. There was no way her mother, Ambessa, would be attracted to her friend, Ava. There was no way. The age gap was significantly large.
But glances, smiles, and brief touches between you and Ambessa, they were accidentally. Surely they were. Anytime you thought that, it was as if a loud buzzer rung in your head making you groan. Your mind was consumed by the older woman, she filled every crevice of your brain, even showing up in your dreams which made you wake up flushed and embarrassed.
Today, you were at Ambessa house with Mel since it was a holiday weekend, Mel had gone out for a couple things and you said you'd stay. Maybe it was a mistake cause you stood next to the piano while Ambessa played 'Clair de lune'. It was beautiful, watching her so intently where you didn't even realize it. While she was still playing, she looked up, seeing your gave and for a few moments you both just stared.
"Ava," her voice broke the silence and broke your almost trace like state. Immediately embarrassed, you cleared your throat and looked away, and scolded yourself mentally for getting caught ogling her. Cheeks feeling warm, as well as your ears then the piano stopped and you heard a small shuffle, looking over to see the tall older woman right in front of you.
"Are you okay, sweetie," she lulled, almost as if she didn't want to scare you away, which helped to relax you, "you look warm."
