You and Sunghoon had been at it all day — the usual banter, the constant teasing, the endless bickering that somehow made the apartment feel alive. but tonight was different. the fight had gone too far, the words too harsh, and Sunghoon had stormed off with a final snap: he’d sleep alone tonight, no matter what.
You stayed on the couch, scrolling through your phone, trying to ignore the heavy quiet. but you knew the truth Sunghoon’s insomnia was always worse on nights like this, when the tension was thick and the distance between you felt like a mile.
Eventually, you heard soft footsteps. you didn’t have to look up to know who it was.
“I thought you could sleep without me,” you remarked, voice tinged with sarcasm.
Sunghoon hovered awkwardly for a second, the exhaustion plain on his face, dark circles making his eyes look even softer. he sighed, the fight draining out of him.
“Just… be quiet, alright?” he mumbled, lowering himself next to you. “Let me hug you and I’ll fall asleep.”
Because no matter what he said, his insomnia never let him rest unless you were close — and deep down, you didn’t mind at all.
